SINGAPORE AIRLINES

BANGALORE TO SINGAPORE VIA SINGAPORE AIRLINES

I left home @ around 7 in the evening; it was pouring rain and phone calls at the same time. The rain cause of a depression in the Bay of Bengal and the calls cause I had advertised for selling my car.

My friend was dropping me to the Airport and I was confident that my baggage weight limit would not exceed 30 kg. Remember that movie in which Steven saegal says “assumption is the mother of all fuck ups”, well I was going to find out the hard way when I reached BIAL.

We started from my village (puttenahalli) it is for all purposes a village as reaching anywhere from here will take you at least 2 hours, depending on the distance it could be much longer as well.

i travelled via Singapore airways from Bangalore to Singapore on Wednesday 13th august by the 11.05 flight and my experience was really horrible, first I had to fight to get my baggage allowance increased to 30 kg, this process took about 1 week. then finally after the turmoil i got the increase of baggage weight. Most organizations believe in doing something that everyone else is doing.

The worst part is that the ticket price paid was very high compared to the kind of service one gets @ the airport. I was an student travelling abroad and all my other friends travelling in other airlines got better baggage allowance than me, when my baggage was overweight the people @ the check in counter in Bangalore were at their unhelpful best with what they could be done to solve my problem,

Instead they asked me to take the luggage away(we are not liable for your luggage) like they didn’t care, Customer service in India sucks and Singapore Airlines is not the only one providing bad customer service.

there was no one to guide me, finally i reduced by baggage weight to around 32 kg and almost unwillingly I was allowed to take that much on the plane, my friend who travelled from kolkata on a SA flight was allowed up to 35 kg, this is ridiculous service for the price that a student shells out, people travelling via budget airlines got a 40 kg allowance. Frankly the fact that I have received such customer service makes me doubt whether I will ever fly SA or recommend it to anyone.
