What if i were the Prime Minister for 1 day

What are the first 5 things i would do if i were the Prime minister of this wierd nation called India?

It is estimated that out of every 1 rupees spent by the government, only 15 paise reaches the common man.


1. hence the first thing i would do would be to ensure that government money gets spent correctly.

How would i do that? i would create an enforcement directorate chief which reports jointly to the chief justice of India and the prime minister only.

The posting/transfer of this chap would be decided only by consensus with the Chief justice and the prime minister.

This chap would have under his purview all the future programs of the central and state goverments, the power to inspect/arrest and investigate corrupt politicians/ officials etc.

2.Education, Creating a suitable business envioronment for investors/entrepruners:

Our education system sucks!! period.. the current system encourages by rote learning without fostering creativity. Hence i would remove this system and get education re-focussed on a participative model, ensuring that all goverment schools have a 2 way video call facility to promote the learning of sciences/arts and english.

I would ensure that a new business can be setup within a day, I would encourage every national/private bank to have a separate arm for incubating new business ventures.

A person who has travelled a lot told me that if we were take one of the tier 2- tier 3 cities/ rural areas in China and compare it with any city in India, we would find our cities lacking and dismal.

3. i would stimulate the biggest push for rural/urban infrastructure

I would ensure that infrastructure projects are given top priority, with 24 hour work schedules to repair road works, laying of highways, etc

The forest cover in our country stands at a dismal 33% or less.

4. i would stimulate the largest envioronment friendly initiatives by any country world wide

I would ensure that all state governments asking for funds for development, must plant 5 million trees across 4 cities in thier state.

I would give the envioronment ministry more powers and make it independant and accountable only to the prime minister/ and 12 prominent NGO's who would account for its governance and formation of new laws for this ministry.

I would ensure that all public transport ply only on LPG within a 5 year time frame, with funds for other projects being released based on thier complete co-operation with this order.

Our national security is a joke, so is our police force and intelligence agencies

5. I would reform the police/armed forces/intelligence wings with the following initiatives

Police would report to the high court in a particular state, transfers would be decided by the court based on the recommendation of the politicians in the state.

They would all be equipped with the latest weapons/ communication devices.

Would increase thier salary by around 4 times the amount that they are drawing across levels.

Would give all police stations 3 computers broad band connections, VSAT hookups etc. mobile connections/devices and life time connections for all police men. with an allowance of around 500 rupees/month.

Pro-active military policies encouraging realistic engagement of enemies (larger or smaller)

All these I would do in One day, what have our loser politicians done for the last 62 years? i wonder?

wake up India, wake up... and rise to your true place as the shining star for amongst all nations....
