Internship: Brand Management
So this is my first tryst with hard core marketing and i am lost in the semantics, my mentor here at the company speaks greek most of the time, isnt that what a MBA is supposed to do, hey thats my role i say..... You are not supposed to be saying stuff like that i think,
Seems to me that i dont know the M of marketing and i am starting right from the scratch... considering that this is the field that i want to enter after this MBA at the Asian Institute of management in Manila, i am beginning to wonder a lot..... :)
So what have i done for the last 2 or 3 weeks? basically i went through a lot of the studies that were conducted for this brand and made a ppt on what i thought were the logical connections between the studies... pretty much that.
Now i move to phase 2 which is about me defining 'SPACES' where this brand can enter, by spaces my mentee means areas of interest which engages a large part of their consumer lives, the semantics are lost on me..... but i am trying to design a guide questionaaire which i am going to use to come to the SPACES, lol there is a space in my mind which is saying empty SPACES ....what???? :), LOL I think i got this concept in my head as mediums through which our brand can speak to consumers.
Which will bring me to phase 3 which is consumer connect, i get to speak to consumers about various aspects of thier lives for example:
1. lifestyle
2. hobbies
3. career
4. entertainment
5. shopping
etc...
from here i will arrive at SPACES and hopefully at the end of this process i will be a lot more wiser than when i came in.
